Questions With Mrs. Gilboy 3/30/20
Hi Parents,
I'm here on our blog for office hours. Comment below if you have any questions! I'm in the process of setting up Class Dojo as well, so we will be switching over to that once that site is up and running.

Story of the Week: Mayday! Mayday!
Hello Kinder families! Here is our story of the week. We usually read the story 3 times throughout the week. The first time is just a straight read through, then the next two times we read it, we discuss comprehension questions as we read. Before your child listens to the story, have them discuss our question of the week: What kinds of transportation help us in an emergency?
Here are our comprehension questions to discuss as your child listens to the story a second and third time.
1. Why do you think a rescue swimmer needs to have all this equipment?
2. What type of vehicle does the Coast Guard use for the rescue mission?
3. How do the flight mechanic and swimmer prepare as they get on the helicopter?
4. What happens to the yacht during the storm?
5. What do you think the instrument called radar does?
6. Why do you think the people in the yacht send up the flare?
7. What is the swimmer wearing (when he swims out to the yacht) on his face?
8. What will the pilot and the rescuer in the helicopter do after a sailor is in the basket?
9. How are the sailors feeling after they are rescued and as they are strapped into seats on the helicopter?
10. Where does the Jayhawk (helicopter) take the sailors after they rescue them?
